August 16 9th Annual Give Burns The Boot Poker Run hosted by the Gordon County Fire Department to benefit GFBF. Entertainment provided by Booger Holler. Registration begins at 9am and is $25 per bike that includes t-shirt, door prize ticket, & lunch ticket. Ride will depart from Station 1 located at 400 Belwood Road SE, Calhoun, GA. August 24 The GFBF Family Picnic will be held at Brooks Lake in Conyers, GA from 2pm-6pm. Open to the public, especially burn survivors, volunteers, campers, partners, supporters, members, firefighters, burn center staff, and all the families. Please join us for fun & games! September 11 Local F-152 Dobbins Fire Department hosts their 2nd annual Everyday Heroes Golf Tournament at the BridgeMill Athletic Club in Canton, GA. Could you be the winner of $10,000 for a hole-in-one! Enjoy Prize Shots, Silent Auction, and Contests. Teams & Sponsors needed. September 11 2nd Annual Golf Tournament hosted by the Powder Springs Business Association. Event will benefit Bullock Hope House, GFBF, Police & EMT. Entry fee $90.00 includes cart & green fees, range balls, lunch, awards reception, and non-alcoholic beverages. Contests: Hole in One, Longest Drive, Closest to the center line for men & women, and Closest to the pin on #3, #6 & #12 (par3) for men & women.

World Burn Congress in Raleigh, NC hosted by the Phoenix Society. This conference provides a forum for those affected by burn injury and trauma to meet other burn survivors and learn how to make the journey to recovery. There are presentations, support groups, leisure activities, and the week is concluded with a dinner dance. Check out the conference schedule for more information. The Northeast Georgia Council is pleased to announce Great Escape 2008, a weekend of adventure and fun for all youth (male/female) 14 to 20 years, at Camp Rainey Mountain in the beautiful Northeast Georgia Mountains. The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation and the Northeast Georgia Council, BSA, would like to invite your Explorer Posts & Venture Crews to the 2008 Scout Blast Public Safety Competitions in Gwinnett County (Atlanta) Georgia at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. Everyone is invited...if you do not have an Explorer Post or Venture Crew come on out anyway!! A fun filled day full of competitions your youth won’t want to miss!! It's gonna be a BLAST!!

April 4 & 5 Miss Burn Pageant sponsored by the Swainsboro Fire Department at Swainsboro Auditorium, 532 West Church St, Swainsboro, GA. Competition dates are April 4th for ages 2-11years old. April 5th for age groups 0-23 months and 12-21 years old. Don’t forget about the Reverse Pageant…men dressed as women for a little fun and lots of laughter…firefighters we are counting on you for this one!!
