Give Burns The Boot® (GBTB) began in 1990.

GBTB raised $76,000 that first year from the participation of 23 fire departments:

  • Covington
  • DeKalb County
  • Douglas County
  • East Point
  • Forest Park
  • Hapeville
  • Jonesboro
  • Lamar County
  • Marietta

  • Riverdale
  • Rockdale County
  • Salem
  • Smyrna
  • Spalding County
  • Union City
  • Winder

200 fire departments and $17 million!

GBTB grew to include the participation of over 200 fire departments across the State, raising over 17 million dollars since inception.

GBTB Investment Credit Program

The GFBF also supports a Give Burns The Boot® Investment Credit Program through which participating fire departments receive ten percent of the funds they collected to be used towards fire safety/burn prevention programs in their communities.  Over 1.7 million dollars has been reinvested in communities throughout the State.
